To Be Heard, We Must Hear!

                                           Zechariah 7:13
"Therefore, it is come to pass that, as he cried,
and they would not hear, so they cried, and
I would not hear, saith the lord of hosts"

Zechariah, was warning the hypocritical enquirers, who were continuing in their sins, when they ask with great preciseness whether or not should they continue their fasting.  He described to them their wilfulness and disobedience, in which they seemed to hear and seemed inclined at first to comply however; they pulled away and ignored God's Commands.
God's judgements upon Israel for their sins, were written to warn Christians not just of duties of fasting, but doing justly and loving mercy, which tend to the public welfare and peace.  The Law of God lays restraint upon the heart, and nothing is harder than the heart of a presumptuous sinner.  Sin if regarded in the heart, will certainly spoil the success of prayer.
There is an old saying; "Somethings never change."  Listening to God is something that has never changed from, The Old Testament time, to now, and through eternity.  We as Christians must be faithful in all things in Christ.  One can not stand on one-side of a board and say it is strong; when he goes on the other-side of the board and breaks it.  When we go to God for any matter, we must be in complete union with Him.  If we don't, then we have not listen to To God in the first place.  We all should ask ourselves this question.  "Do I listen to God?"
        Amen!!
