The Attributes Of God (PT-2)

Psalm 50:12
"If I were hungry, I would not tell thee:
for the world is mine, and
the fulness thereof.

The second attribute of God is "self-sufficient." This attribute is closely related to the attribute of self-existence the attribute we talked about yesterday. However this attribute carries it a step further. This means God has never had in eternity past, or will He ever have a single need in the ages to come that His own divine nature has not already provided. "For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine," (Ps 50:10-11).
The third attribute of God is "God is eternal." This means God is absolutely free from time. In Him there is no past no future, but always one never-ending presents. God is neither conditioned or confined by time. "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them," (Deut. 33:27). "My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass. But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations," (Ps. 102:11-12).
During one of His dialogues with the wicked Pharisees, Jesus made reference to his attribute of eternity. Check out His declaration: "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad." Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?" (John 8:56-57).  I want you to look closely, He did not say, before Abraham was, I was," "But before Abraham was I am." "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am, " (John 8:58).
My Friends, before there were anything of existence God was there, and He has a never ending presents! "Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God," (Ps. 90:2).
Amen!
