Be Sound In Heart

                                          Psalm 119:80
                        "Let my heart be sound in thy statutes;
                                     that I be not ashamed."

         God made us to serve him, and enjoy him; but by sin we have made ourselves unfit to serve him, and to enjoy him. We should continually seek him, and by his Holy Spirit, we might get understanding. The comforts we have in God, should in turn bring joy to others. It is always easy to except, that God's judgments are right, until it comes to be our own case.
        When one is under affliction support must come from mercy and compassion. The mercies of God are tender mercies; the mercies of our father, and the compassion of our mother; they come to us when we are not able to go to them. Causeless reproach does not hurt, and should not bother us. You could go on with your duty, and find comfort in it. But you must value the good will of, the brethren  and  keep your communion with them. Soundness of heart signifies sincerity in dependence on God, and  shows that you are devoted to him totally; "therefore you should not be ashamed."
        Amen!!
