Matthew 14:30
"But when he saw the wind boisterous
he was afraid, and beginning to sink"
What is the danger in distractions? Luke 9:62, "Anyone who puts his hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God." Matthew 14:28-31, Then Peter called to Him "Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you by walking on the water." "All right, come," Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he look around at the high waves, he was terrified and began to sink. "Save me Lord!" he shouted. Instantly Jesus reached out His hand and grabbed him. "You don't have much faith," Jesus said. "Why did you doubt me?"
Distractions take our focus off of Jesus. We can be in the middle of doing good things, but if we take our eyes off Jesus a moment, we will begin to sink. God can refocus our attention on His way, by distracting us from our our ways. When God wants our undivided attention He will use a distraction much harder then the one that took our focus off of Him. Don't be distracted even by good things, if they take you away from what you know is right.
In no way, am I all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing. Forgetting the past and looking toward what lies ahead. Don't let the past drag you down, focus your energies on what you can do for God and others now and in the future. Amen!!
May God Bless You
