The Happiest Person On Earth

Psalm 64:10  

"The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust 

in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory."
 

    Many people seem to have the idea that salvation is some kind of insurance against going to hell that secures a reserved seat in Heaven.  Of course, the salvation of our souls does accomplish these things, but it involves more than that.  The salvation of our souls begins a new kind of dimension of life.  It is the life that lost people cannot have because of their sin nature and their choices.
    Many also have the view that following Jesus means that we have to give up everything that might bring joy to our lives.  This may be due in part to the sour Christians whom we encounter from time to time.  Some of God's children act as if they have gotten something sour in them and never got rid of it.  A smile seldom crosses their faces.  
    This is sad because following Jesus offers us joy unspeakable and full of glory.  A child of God, who is serving their lord, should be the happiest  human being on earth. "O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard: Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved," ( Ps. 66:8-9).
