Romans 10:1
"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to"
" God for Israel is, they might be saved"
There is a great deal of mindless praying among us Christians. That is, we are often guilty of praying with our speech in high gear while our minds are in neutral. We fall victim to the tendency to offer lazy cliches: "Lord, be with all the missionaries." "Bless the Millers." "Just be with our young people in the meeting next Sunday." "Lord. lead, guide and direct us." This is how we pray far to often. Wouldn't it be better to pray with understanding when we pray for others?
Examine your personal praying for a moment, not just the prayers you offer in Prayer Meeting or when the pastor calls on you to lead or close a meeting in prayer but also the prayers you offer in the quiet of your home. Do you focus divine attention on your own wants and needs to the exclusion of asking God to meet the needs of others? Do you maintain a prayer list, written or mental in which you include request for salvation of unsaved persons and the spiritual growth of fellow Christians?
All of us can improve our prayer life by following the pattern Paul set as he prayed for sinners to be saved (Romans 10:1) and for saints to be sanctified and empowered. When Paul thought about Christians, he gave thanks for them. Do we do the same, "Give Thanks"
May God Bless You
And Your Families
