Matthew 16:8
"O ye of little faith"
In Matthew 16:6-12 : The unbelief of the Disciples caused them to be a little confused until Jesus spelled it out for them. Jesus had to do this quit a bit concerning His Disciples, due to the fact that their faith had not been fully established. You know they were no different than we are today. Why? We want God to handle everything in our time. A Christians biggest problem is waiting for God to help again; instead of living on what He has all ready done. Like the Disciples we get concerned more about physical things than spiritual; Christ was concerned about the sad state of the Pharisees, while the Disciples were irritated because they had forgotten to bring bread with them.
This is an illustration of Matthew 13:22 : the cares of this world choking out the seed of the Word. Jesus rebuked them for their "little faith;" if they needed bread, could they not trust Him to provide it! They must had forgotten about the 4000 people that Jesus fed with just a few loves and fishes! Luke 12:1 names hypocrisy, too as leaven of the Pharisees. If the leaven of hypocrisy (false living) and false doctrine gets into the heart of the believer and into the church, it grows secretly and corrupts the entire group
