John 9:39
And Jesus said, "For judgment I am come into this world,
that they which see not might see; and that they which
see might be made blind."
Christ’s first coming to this world was not for judgment, but for salvation. Yet it appears, again and again in the course of His ministry, that judgment was a necessary incident of His teaching and authoritative action. By Him "the thoughts of many hearts were revealed." There was a virtue of moral discrimination and separation in His ministry of which He himself was well aware. He brought sight to some who were blind, and the result of His coming was that some who boasted, and those whom boast today, that they were not blind (IE spiritually blind); were proved, and will be proved again in this generation to be spiritually blind.
The explanation of the blinding result of the Savior’s ministry is to be found in the action of a Love divinely appointed, according to those who have truth brought to them, by seeing the Light of Christ. And those who refuse to open their eyes to Christ, no good comes their way, and their blindness (spiritual blindness) intensified into hatred. Neglect of a privilege leads to deprivation of that privilege! So is it in spiritual relations! Those who boast of their spiritual discernment, and in fact loved darkness rather than light, will abode in darkness until their spiritual vision is quenched in blindness and end with impenetrable gloom. My friends we must be blind from this evil world! And open our eyes and heart to Jesus Christ!
Amen!!
