Christ The True Wisdom

Romans 8:1
"Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding
put forth her voice"?

Wisdom is personified. It is available to the simplest (Prov.8:2, 5). The description of Wisdom is no mere ideal of practical prudence and good sense, or no mere poetic personification of an abstract quality, but a prefigure, "distinctly" of him, who is the Wisdom of God, "Christ the Son of God." The open, bold, and public utterances of Wisdom are in happy contrast to the secret and stealthy enticements of evil conduct. So Christ, the true Wisdom, says, "I have spoken openly to the world."
Wisdom  here is Christ, in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. It is Christ in the Word, and Christ in the heart. Not only Christ revealed to us, but Christ revealed in us.
        Amen!!

The Practice Of Faith

Romans 6:14
"For sin shall not have dominion over you: for
ye are not under the law, but under grace."

"In this world there is an eternal battle between sin and God; choose your side."  We are faced with the tremendous alternative of making ourselves weapons in the hand of God or weapons in the hand of sin. Some man may well say: "Such a choice is too much for me. I am bound to fail." Paul gives us the answer to our dilemma. "Don't be discouraged and don't be despairing; sin will not lord over you." Why? Because we are no longer under law but under grace. Why should that make all the difference? Because we are no longer trying to satisfy the demands of law but are trying to be worthy of the gifts of love. We are no longer regarding God as the stern judge; we are regarding him as the lover of the souls of men. There is no inspiration in all the world like love. Who ever went out from the presence of his loved one without the burning desire to be a better person?
The Christian life is not a burden to be borne; it is a privilege to be lived up to. "It is not restraint but inspiration which liberates from sin; not Mount Sinai but Mount Calvary which makes saints." Many a man has been saved from sin, not because of the regulations of the law, but because he could not bear to hurt or grieve or disappoint someone whom he loved and someone who, he knew, loved him. At best, the law restrains a man through fear; but love redeems him by inspiring him to be better than his best. The inspiration of the Christian comes, not from the fear of what God will do to him, but from the inspiration of what God has done for him. "Gave His Son, Jesus Christ, For Our Sins!"
        Amen!!

The Impossible, Made Possible

Romans 4:21
"And being fully persuaded that, what he had
promised he was able also to perform"

It was this willingness to take God at his word which put Abraham into a right relationship with Him. The Jewish Rabbis had a saying to which Paul here refers. They said, "What is written of Abraham is written also of his children."  That meant that any promise that God made to Abraham extends to his children also. Therefore, if Abraham's willingness to take God at his word brought him into a right relationship with God, so it will be with us. It is not works of the law, it is this trusting faith which establishes the relationship between God and a man which ought to exist.
The very essence of Abraham's faith, is he believed that God could make the impossible possible. So long as we believe that everything depends on our efforts, we are bound to be pessimists, for experience has taught the grim lesson that our own efforts can achieve very little. When we realize that it is not our effort but God's grace and power which matter, then we become optimists, because we are bound to believe that with God nothing is impossible.
        Amen!!

Press Forward! Never Relax!

Philippians 3:15
"Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded:
and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded,
God shall reveal even this unto you."

There is no doubt that Paul is here speaking to the people that believed; that the Gospel frees Christians from obedience to any law, whether scriptural, civil, or moral law. They were those who denied that there was any law at all in the Christian life. They declared that they were within the grace of God and that, therefore, it did not matter what they did; God would forgive. No further discipline and no further effort were necessary. The sad thing is there is still people believing that way today! Paul is insisting that to the end of the day the Christian life is the life of an athlete looking toward the goal in front; "his goal in life"
Let's get real here, "Anyone who has come to be mature in the faith and knows what Christianity is must recognize the discipline and the effort and the agony of the Christian life."  He may perhaps think differently, but, if he is an honest man, God will make it plain to him that he must never relax his effort or lower his standards; "but must press towards the goal, until the end."

Written On The Heart

Romans 2:19
"And art confident that thou thyself art a
guide of the blind, a light of them
which are in darkness"

All men, whether Jews or Gentiles, will be judged by the same standard. For the Jew; the law was written upon the pages of the Old Testament; but for the Gentiles, who possessed neither Moses nor Sinai, it was written on the tablets of the heart and known as  "conscience" The difference between the two is comparable to that of, the time of day indicated by the sun, and the time of day indicated, by the watch which we wear on our arm. It is a blessed and profound truth, which makes all men amenable to God’s judgment, that deep down in every man’s soul He has engraved His Holy law.
How clearly Scripture bears witness to the eternal judgment! (Act 17:31). The secrets of men are to be judged ( Rom 2:16). How thankful we should be that those who stand in Christ shall not come under condemnation! He has borne the curse of a broken law for us, and is not ashamed to call us brethren (Heb 2:11).

Know The Truth, Practice The Truth!

Romans 1:18
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven
against all ungodliness and unrighteousness
of men, who hold the truth
in unrighteousness."

This is a Scripture that one must give, serious thinking. We meet the conception of the wrath of God, an alarming and a terrifying phrase. What is its meaning? What was in Paul's mind when he used it?
The message here is that there is a moral order in this world. The conclusion is clear, that moral order is the wrath of God at work. God made this world in such a way that we break his laws at our peril. Now if we were left solely at the mercy of ourselves, there could be nothing for us but death and destruction. The world is made in such a way that the soul that sins must die, if the moral order is to act alone. But into this dilemma of man there comes the love of God, and that love of God, by an act of unbelievable free grace, lifts man out of the consequences of sin and saves him from the wrath he should have received.  "Seek Ye God"

For I Believe

Acts 27:25
"Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for
I believe God, that it shall be
even as it was told to me."

By this time they had lost all control of the ship. She was drifting, broadside on, across the waters and they could not tell where they were. They cast out the anchors from the stern to slacken the drifting speed of the ship in order to prevent being cast on the rocks, that they could not see. It was then that Paul took the action of a commander. The sailors planned to sail away in the small boat that they let down with ropes, into the sea, which would have been quite useless for two hundred and seventy-six people. Then Paul speaks, "The ship's company must sink or swim together.' Next comes a most human and suggestive episode. Paul insisted that they should eat. He was a visionary man of God; but he was also an intensely practical man. He had not the slightest doubt that God would do his part but he also knew that they must do theirs. Paul was not one of those people who "were so heavenly minded that they were of no earthly use." He knew that hungry men are not efficient men; and so he gathered the ship's company around him and made them eat.

As we read, these Scriptures, there seems to come a strange calm. The man of God has somehow made others sure that God is in charge of things. The most useful people in the world are those who, being themselves calm, bring to others the secret of confidence. Paul was like that; and every follower of Jesus ought to be steadfast when others are in turmoil.

Friends All Over The World

Acts 21:13
"Then Paul answered, What mean you to weep and
to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be
bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem
for the name of the Lord Jesus."

During one of the sieges in the Spanish Civil War, some in the garrison wished to surrender but one of their comrades said, "I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees." Paul was like that.  There is the wonderful fact that wherever Paul went he found a Christian community waiting to welcome him. If that was true in Paul's time, it is still more true today. One of the great privileges of belonging to the Church is the fact that no matter where a man goes, he is sure to find a community of like minded people into which he may enter. The man who is in the family of the Church has friends all over the world.

A Fall From A Loft

Acts 20:9
"And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus,
being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching,
he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third
loft, and was taken up dead."

This story is clearly an eye witness account; of what a Christian service was like. Here Christians fellowship with each other. It may well be that we have lost something of great value in weekly Church meetings. It displays as nothing else could the family spirit of the Church.
The meeting was held at night. That is probably because it was only at night, when the day's work was done, and all could come to the Christian fellowship. That also explains the case of Eutychus. It was dark. In the low upper room it was hot. Eutychus, no doubt, had done a hard day's work before he came to the meeting and his body was tired. He was sitting by a window to get the cool night air. The windows were not made of glass. They were either lattice or solid wood and opened like doors, coming right down almost to the floor and projecting over the courtyard below.

Eutychus, overpowered by the stuffy atmosphere, went to sleep and fell to the courtyard below. We must not take it that Paul spoke on and on; because in those day's, there would be talk and discussion. When the crowd went down the outside stair and found the lad lying senseless below, they began to scream for help. Paul told them to stop the fuss, for the life was still in the lad. Paul did not go with the main company; no doubt he stayed behind to make sure that Eutychus was completely recovered from his fall.
There's something very lovely about this simple picture. The impression is that of a family meeting together, instead of a modern church service. Is it possible that we have gained in dignity in our Church services at the expense of family atmosphere?

        Amen!!

Receiving The Holy Spirit

Acts 19:4
"Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism
of repentance, saying unto the  people, that they
should believe on him which should come
after him, that is, on Christ Jesus"

In Ephesus Paul met some men who were incomplete Christians. They had received the baptism of John but they did not even know of the Holy Spirit in the Christian sense of the term. What was the difference between the baptism of John and baptism in the name of Jesus?
John's preaching was a necessary stage for all people to be awaken to our own inadequacy and our deserving of condemnation at the hand of God. When we try do do things on our own, to do better that eventually fails because we try in our own strength. There is a time in one's life when they  come to see; that through the grace of Jesus Christ their condemnation may be taken away. That my friend is the time when we find that all our efforts to do better are strengthened by the work of the Holy Spirit, through whom we can do what we could never do ourselves.
When will I receive the Holy Spirit?  Many people have pointed out that Paul asked these people if they have received the Holy Spirit "since" they "believed" (verse two). Their purpose was to show that Paul accepted the idea that some do not receive the Spirit until after Salvation. A literal rendering of the Greek would be: "Did you receive the Holy Spirit, having believed?"
It is plain in verses four and five that In Ephesus some had not believed in Jesus Christ, but in the repentance that John The Baptist had preached. Thus we have it! There is no conflict about when someone receives the Holy Spirit. All believers receive the Holy Spirit at Salvation (when saved). Translation without the Holy Spirit! There can be no such thing as complete Christianity. Even when we see the error of our ways and repent and determine to change them we can never make the change, without the help which the Spirit alone can give.

The Bands Were Loosed

Acts 16:26
"And suddenly there was a great earthquake,
so that the foundations of the prison were
shaken: and immediately all the doors
were opened, and every one's
bands were loosed."

Let us look at the situation that Paul and the other prisoners were in. This was a district where earthquakes were by no means uncommon. The door was locked, probably by a wooden bar falling into two slots that were fastened to the wall. The earthquake shook the bar free and the shackles fell from the prisoners, and the door was open. The jailer was about to kill himself because Roman law said that if a prisoner escaped the jailer must suffer the penalty the prisoner would have suffered.
Paul could sing hymns when he was locked in a prison at midnight. The one thing you can never take away from a Christian is God and the presence of Jesus Christ. With God there is freedom even in a prison and even at midnight there is light. He was quite willing to open the door of salvation to the jailer who had shut the door of the prison on him. There was never a grudge in Paul's nature. He could preach to the very man no matter what they had done or were doing to him! He could stand on his dignity! He claimed his rights as a Roman citizen! To scourge a Roman citizen was a crime punishable by death. But Paul was not standing on his dignity for his own sake but for the sake of the Christians he was leaving behind in Philippi. He wanted it to be seen that they were not without influential friends.
The jailer turned to Christ! The interesting thing about the jailer is that he immediately proved his conversion by his deeds. No sooner had he turned to Christ than he washed the stripes upon the prisoners' backs, was baptized, and set a meal before them. My friends that is true conversion from sinner to a Christian! Unless a man's Christianity makes him kind it is not real. Unless a man's professed change of heart is guaranteed by his change of deeds it is not genuine . When the chains are loosed from your life my friend, you have freedom from sin and the power of Jesus Christ to defeat any and all evil in your life.

Seek And You Shall Find

Luke 1:4
"That thou mightest know the certainty of those
things, wherein thou hast been instructed."

Real Christianity is never a second hand thing. It is a personal discovery. All four gospels are important, but with them comes the personal experience with Jesus Christ. We must know Jesus Christ for our self.
There is a hint of stern guidance in today's Scripture, that on a personal level, no one could deny the certainty of inspired Scripture. But yet, there are many who never research or accept the inspired Gospel of Jesus Christ. My Friend, God's inspiration does not come to the man who sits with folded hands and lazy mind and only waits. God's inspiration comes to the man who thinks and seeks and searches. True inspiration comes when the seeking mind of man joins with the revealing Spirit of God. The word of God is given, but it is given to the man who is seeking for it. "Seek and you shall find" (Mat 7:7).

A Sonship With Eternal Life

John 1:12
"But as many as received him, to them
gave he power to become the sons
of God, even to them that
believe on his name."

"Sonship."  In one sense sonship is a tremendous privilege. To those who believe there is given the power to become sons (John. 1:12).  But the very essence of sonship is necessarily obedience. "He who has commandments, and keeps them, he it is who loves me" (John. 4:21). The essence of sonship is love; and the essence of love is obedience. We cannot with any reality say that we love a person and then do things which hurt and grieve that person's heart. Sonship is a privilege, but a privilege which is entered into only when full obedience is given. So then to be a son of God and to be in the kingdom are one and the same thing. The son of God and the citizen of the kingdom are both people who have completely and willingly accepted the will of God.
"Eternal Life. It is far better to speak of eternal life than to speak of everlasting life. The main idea behind eternal life is not simply that of duration. It is quite clear that a life which went on for ever could just as easily be hell as heaven. The idea behind eternal life is the idea of a certain quality of life. What kind? There is only one person who can properly be described by this adjective eternal and that one person is God. Eternal life is the kind of life that God lives; it is God's life. To enter into eternal life is to enter into possession of that kind of life which is the life of God. It is to be lifted up above merely human, transient things into that joy and peace which belong only to God. Clearly a man can enter into this close fellowship with God only when he renders to Him that love, that reverence, that devotion, that obedience which truly bring him into fellowship with Him. "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." (John 1:17)

John "The Fearless"

Matthew 3:3
For this is he that was spoke of by the
prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice
of one crying in the wilderness."

The presences of John was like the sudden sounding of the voice of God. At this time the Jews were sadly conscious that the voice of the prophets spoke no more. They said, that for four hundred years there had been no prophet. Throughout long centuries the voice of prophecy had been silent. As they put it themselves, "There was no voice, nor any that answered." But in John the prophetic voice spoke again. What were the characteristics of John and his message?
He fearlessly denounced evil wherever he might find it. If Herod the king sinned by contracting an evil and unlawful marriage, John rebuked him. If the Sadducee's and Pharisees, the leaders of orthodox religion, the churchmen of their day, were sunk in ritualistic formalism, John never hesitated to say so. If the ordinary people were living lives which were unaware of God, John would tell them so.
Wherever John saw evil in the state, in the Church, or in the crowd he fearlessly rebuked it. He was like a light which lit up the dark places; he was like wind which swept from God throughout the country., There is still a place in the Christian message for warning and denunciation. Spreading The "truth," is like a light to sore eyes. "He who never offended anyone, "never did anyone any good."

Enlightening And Blinding Power.

John 9:39
And Jesus said, "For judgment I am come into this world,
that they which see not might see; and that they which
see might be made blind."

Christ’s first coming to this world was not for judgment, but for salvation. Yet it appears, again and again in the course of His ministry, that judgment was a necessary incident of His teaching and authoritative action. By Him "the thoughts of many hearts were revealed." There was a virtue of moral discrimination and separation in His ministry of which He himself was well aware. He brought sight to some who were blind, and the result of His coming was that some who boasted, and those whom boast today, that they were not blind (IE spiritually blind); were proved, and will be proved again in this generation to be spiritually blind.
The explanation of the blinding result of the Savior’s ministry is to be found in the action of a Love divinely appointed, according to  those who have truth brought to them, by seeing the Light of Christ. And those who refuse to open their eyes to Christ, no good comes their way, and their blindness (spiritual blindness) intensified into hatred. Neglect of a privilege leads to deprivation of that privilege! So is it in spiritual relations! Those who boast of their spiritual discernment, and in fact loved darkness rather than light, will abode in darkness until their spiritual vision is quenched in blindness and end with impenetrable gloom. My friends we must be blind from this evil world! And open our eyes and heart to Jesus Christ!

Sin And Complacency

1 Corinthians 5: 7
"Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may
be a new lump, as we are unleavened.
 For even Christ our passover
 is sacrificed for us."

Paul was dealing with a reoccurring problem. In sexual matters the heathen did not know the meaning of chastity. They took their pleasure when and where they wanted it. It was so hard for the Christian Church to escape the infection. They were like a small island surrounded on every side by a sea of paganism. They were newly into Christianity; and it was difficult to unlearn the generations of loose-living that had been made part of their lives.
My friends when we cease to take a serious view of sin we are in a perilous position. It is not a question of being wounded and shocked, it was sin that crucified Jesus Christ; it was to free men from sin that he died. No Christian man can take an easy going view of it.
From generation to generation the matters of sin that Paul addressed within the Corinthian congregation is still going on today. The problem I see is that the Government seems to be passing laws against The Christian Law Maker "God. " Some new laws they are passing are against our commandments from God, but be not afraid, for this is the calm before the storm. "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." (Rom. 12:19)

Show Forth Your Identity

1 Peter 2:9
"But ye are a chosen generation a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should
show forth the praises of him who hath
called you out of the darkness
into marvelous light:"

How often do we evaluate ourselves on the bases of our own feelings, and don't consider what God says? Our problem is our feelings are always changing, from one moment to the next. We never know what circumstances will arise to test our faith.
Maybe today is one of those days when things just don't go right: The car want start, your late for work, the house payment is due, and you don't have the money to pay it. It is times like these, when Satan will do what ever he can do to take you attention from the Lord, and focus it on yourself, and your problems. When we direct our focus toward circumstances instead of the Word of God, we accept what the situation seems to indicate or what others say, instead of what the Lord tells us.
How encouraging it is to know that we've been called into God's "marvelous light." As believers, we're empowered by the Holy Spirit, who enables us to overcome Satan's manipulative tactics. when circumstances seem unbearable, remember the Lord paid a price to purchase you (1 Cor. 6:20). Wake up each morning with the knowledge that you are valuable to your Father. Trust in His Word, not your feelings, and allow the Holy Spirit to change your self-perception.

Truth Be Told

1 Corinthians 4:3
"But with me it is a very small thing
that I should be judged of you, or
of man's judgment: yea, I
judge not mine own self"

Paul was using Apollos within the Corinthian congregation, and the relationship was intended to be an example for them to follow in setting of the rules. Paul used himself as an example as a servant of Christ, all that Paul had done for Christ never made him think highly of himself, it only made him stronger in Christ.  "Paul stress to them what ever their position in the church, not to think of them self highly. And whatever power they may yield or prestige he may enjoy, he still remains the servant of God.
My friends, have you ever been in a leadership position in your Church. If so, Lets recall some memory. First the authority was challenged. Then your actions were judged by your peers that had nothing to do with charge. That's what goes on when we all get in our own way, we start judging others, but close our ears to them.
We must face judgment of our fellow men. When we say it means nothing to me, there is a sense that we can not disregard from the judgment of our fellow men. But really the odd thing is that, in spite of mistakes, the judgement of our fellow men is often right. that is due to the fact that every man instinctively admires the basic qualities of honor, honesty and love. There are only two people who can tell you the truth about yourself: an enemy who has lost his temper and a friend who loves you dearly. But it is quite true, that we should never let the judgment of men deflect us from what we believe is right.

Wanting Access To God

Job 23:10
"But he knoweth the way that I take:
when he hath tried me I shall
come forth as gold."

Job may have known he was being tested by God, but he did not meditate on the possibility long enough to see its desired results. Here Job wants access to God so in his answer to Eliphaz Job say's, "Even today is my complaint bitter:" (Job 23:1). Job feels like God is hiding from him, "Behold I go forward but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him" (Job 23:8).
I remember many times through my years as a Believer, I have felt just like Job. I would seek for God and not find him. And of course I would get upset, and be bitter, and close myself off to others, and to what they were saying. I wanted to hear from God and God only. This was one of the longest and hardest test and trials I went through, but I knew I was not alone. Well I did hear from God and got my answer. I had been preaching for about five years and it became all me and little God. So God's answer was: "I am Sitting you on the shelf of understanding, until you understand. Well my friends, I set on that shelf for a long time, but once I realized that it was a test of Obedience and Loyalty to my Lord, I was off that shelf.
God knows our ways and where we are going, because he planned it all. As we go forth in life there will be crossroads in our path. I believe as we get to a crossroad in life, that's when our longest and hardest trial will come. Just as Job faced his trial against Satan, we must have faith in God, no matter what test and trial's may bring. "When he hath tried me I shall come forth as gold."

Choose To Live And Honor The Lord

Romans 5:8
"But God commendeth his love toward
us, in that while we where yet
sinners, Christ died for us."

The love and mercy of God allow us many opportunities to choose life and blessing. Time after time God comes to human hearts with the tender appeal of the Gospel and the truth of the Holy Bible. God had led the people of Israel through the wilderness as a father might lead reluctant children. But now they had to choose The choice was to obey His Word and live or ignore God and perish.
God truly desires to bless every human being. He sets the way of life before us and allows His Holy Spirit to Lead us into it. The final choice is yours. You can trust the Lord and Live, or you can forsake Him and choose death instead. Look at the state of sin this world is in. Then, I want you to think this over carefully, research God's Word, and see where you stand with God? My friends, I believe, that if we truly search God's Word Spiritually, we would make some changes within our own hearts. In closing I say, "Choose To Live And Honor God!"
        Amen!!

The Foundation And The Builders

1 Corinthians 3:11
"For other foundation can no man lay than
that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

Paul was speaking from experience, for he was a foundation layer and was forever on the move. Except when he spent eighteen months in Corinth (Acts 18:11) and three years in Ephesus (Acts 20:31). There was a lot of ground that was waiting to be covered. There were many men who had not heard of Jesus Christ; and if the Gospel of Jesus Christ was to be preached; Paul could only lay the foundation and move on. Where ever Paul went he laid the same foundation. That was the proclamation of the facts about and the offer of Jesus.
My friends, it is only through Jesus Christ that we find, "forgiveness of sin" and "that we find strength for the present" and "hope for the future." This foundation was approved by the love of God, and made solid from beginning to end; through the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Now we must build upon it with wisdom. Not with worldly wisdom, but with Godly wisdom!
        Amen!!

The Unseen Works Of God

John 9:3
Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned,
nor his parents: but the works of God
 should be manifest in him."

Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents (that he should be born blind). There was no immediate connection between the special sin of the parents and this particular calamity. Our Lord does not assert in those words the sinlessness of those people, but severs the supposed link between their conduct and the specific affliction before them. But (he was born blind) that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
The disciples will soon see in the history of this man the meaning of his lifelong blindness. In the man himself’ the grace of God will work mightily, both a bodily and spiritual illumination. "Evil in this case is to redound to greater good." This provides no opportunity for any to fasten on, one or another some charge of special transgression, but, as all evil ought to do, it provides opportunity for the redeeming work which Christ came to accomplish, and which he permitted his disciples to share.
There are many of God's Children that are born with disability's that we don't understand. But did God intent for us to feel sorry for what they might have been born with. No! Because, God does not create any mistakes, every thing he creates is by His design! Christ Glorified God through this blind man, by giving him sight in front of His disciples.
My friends let us not look at God's Children, born with unexplainable problems; that most of us has said or heard, "It's a curse, due to sin some where down through the family history. To God they are special, and I believe they will have a special place in heaven. Because; "Unseen" through them God sends a message of love throughout the world.
       Amen!!

Look To The Cross

Galatians 3:1
"O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that
ye should not obey the truth before whose eyes
Jesus Christ hath been evidently set
forth crucified among you?"

Every since The Gospel Of Jesus Christ has been preached to the Gentiles or should I say offered to, so many still ignore the truth! What is the truth? I am glad you ask! The "Truth" my friend was the one that was crucified on the "Cross"; His name is "Jesus Christ, Emmanuel; God Is With
 Us" (Matt.1:23).
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Rom. 10 :17). So that tells me that over the last 2000 years, every generation has been taught about salvation and how to receive it. That makes Jesus Christ well know today.  It is a dangerous thing to put any thing less than all your confidence in the finished work of Christ on the cross.
All neglect or rejection of revealed truth is foolish. Let's consider a man that has two broken legs, and after an X-ray, he tells his doctor that he can heal himself by walking a long distance three times a day. Similarly, anyone who has received the truth of God's Word, that he cannot walk uprightly before God without fully accepting the divine remedy for sin, provided at Calvary and dispensed exclusively by the Great Physician. And they lay that truth to the side, in favor of any degree of dependence on self.  Both are foolish!
If you have found the "Truth" and believe that truth is, Jesus Christ Our Lord And Saviour, hold Him there in your heart. "Than you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32).
        Amen!!

Listening For That One Voice

John 10:27
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know
them, and they follow me"

Remember cruising around the hangouts in town, and your shotgun guy has his ear bent toward the radio. He tunes it and tunes it, and finally he says, "That's it, that's the one I am looking for!" I recognize that voice. We train our ears to listen to the things we know. However, we seem to search the hardest, when we are searching for something that has our heart and mind.
In our Christian life, we know the importance of recognizing God's voice and tuning others out. When making decisions we what to make sure we hear the right "Person." The Bible assures us as Christians, that we can distinguish God's voice from all others. (John 10:27)
The Lord's voice is heard throughout Scripture. Let the Holy Spirit bring to mind the truths related to your situation. Sometimes what God says may seem illogical in terms of human reasoning. Or it might clash with our fleshly desires. It can be tempting to dismiss a voice that doesn't support the way we perceive our goals in life, but God's children need to align themselves with His directions regardless.  My friends, Our Saviour is calling, can you recognize His voice?
        Amen!!
