The Victor's Will Be Crowned

                                            2 Timothy 4:8
"Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous
judge shall give me at that day:"

Paul was writing this letter from a prison in Rome, toward the close of his life (2 Tim. 1:8).  Even though Paul knew that is death was soon approaching, he was still telling the people to stand fast and be true to God.  He goes on to say there is a crown laid up for him all who believe in Christ. In those days all they knew about, or ever heard about a crown, was what the victor was crowed with during the Roman games. The greatest prize was the "Laurel Wreath."  To wear it was the greatest honor that could come to any athlete. But this crown in a few days would wither.  Paul knew that the crown that awaited him would never fade.
Paul knew what Nero's verdict would be, but he also knew what God's verdict would be.  The man whose life is dedicated to Christ has no verdict of men.  My friends there are "crowns" laid up for all who are "believers" in Christ and that love His appearing.  Don't worry about what men may say or judge you on.  Worry about what God sees in you, and what He is going to say?  I care not if the world condemns me, as long as I hear my God say; "Well Done My Child, Welcome Home."
        Amen!!
