John 14:12
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
believeth on me, the works that
I do shall he do also"
When Jesus spoke the two words "Verily, verily" He was telling the disciples and all those who believe in Him, "Listen to me" "If you haven't heard anything else I've said, please hear this." Jesus was making a significant disclosure.
The result of truly believing in Jesus would be that the believers would do the works Jesus did, and even greater works than those, because Jesus was going to His Father. Whatever was ask in Jesus name, He would grant in order to glorify the Father.
Some people might consider it wrong to think that a Christian could do even greater works than Christ. Yet, remember that God wants great things to be accomplished for His Kingdom. We are not competing with Jesus. All power is from Him and all glory goes to Him. His disciples and believers who would come after them, would be around for longer periods of time, scattered all over the world, and empowered by the Holy Spirit for ministry and service. Let us go forward in truth and faith and share The Gospel Of Jesus Christ. Amen!!
