2 Corinthians 1:5
"For as the sufferings of Christ abound
in us, so our consolation also
aboundeth by Christ"
When we call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are calling to our side the Spirit, and Comforter. Each member of the Trinity is a Comforter: "The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit." For every situation there is comfort and grace.
This comfort that we receive from God is not simply for our personal enjoyment; it is given to us so that we might be able to minister to others. God prepares us for what He is preparing for us. We can never lead others were we have not been ourselves. These trials are called "The Sufferings of Christ" and in that we experience the "Fellowship of His Sufferings." We don't have to share the sufferings of Christ for sin, that was a ministry He alone had to perform. We suffer for His sake and His glory, and that He suffers with us.
We as Christians should be willing to endure trials since we know they bring spiritual good to us personally, and blessings to others as we share with them Gods comfort. We also should be willing to be "Partners" with Christ in suffering because this "Partnership" leads to comfort and edification. Amen!!
