The Burning Lamp

Exodus 27:20
"And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that
they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the
light, to cause the lamp to burn always."

What does this forever burning lamp mean to all generations? God showed to all generations that the Light of God will always burn in a sin darkened world. Today the lamp has different titles: It's called a sanctuary lamp, chancel lamp, altar lamp, everlasting light, or eternal flame. It is a light that shines before the altar of sanctuaries in many denominations of Jewish and Christian places of worship.
Always in Scripture oil is an emblem of the Holy Spirit. It is His grace communicated to the wick of our character and life, which makes us capable of giving a bright light for God. The oil was pure, because no one shines bright for God that are not pure in heart and poor in spirit. The olive was beaten, because our best work is often the result of our sorrows. Just as the "Beaten oil for the Sanctuary" was prepared;  We to should take such care when preparing our work as "Ministers,"  "Teachers," and "all Christians" on a daily basis. Today until Eternity let our, "Light Shine Bright For Our Lord"
Amen!
