Job 23:10
"But he knoweth the way that I take:
when he hath tried me I shall
come forth as gold."
Job may have known he was being tested by God, but he did not meditate on the possibility long enough to see its desired results. Here Job wants access to God so in his answer to Eliphaz Job say's, "Even today is my complaint bitter:" (Job 23:1). Job feels like God is hiding from him, "Behold I go forward but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him" (Job 23:8).
I remember many times through my years as a Believer, I have felt just like Job. I would seek for God and not find him. And of course I would get upset, and be bitter, and close myself off to others, and to what they were saying. I wanted to hear from God and God only. This was one of the longest and hardest test and trials I went through, but I knew I was not alone. Well I did hear from God and got my answer. I had been preaching for about five years and it became all me and little God. So God's answer was: "I am Sitting you on the shelf of understanding, until you understand. Well my friends, I set on that shelf for a long time, but once I realized that it was a test of Obedience and Loyalty to my Lord, I was off that shelf.
God knows our ways and where we are going, because he planned it all. As we go forth in life there will be crossroads in our path. I believe as we get to a crossroad in life, that's when our longest and hardest trial will come. Just as Job faced his trial against Satan, we must have faith in God, no matter what test and trial's may bring. "When he hath tried me I shall come forth as gold."
Amen!!
