Complaints And Suffering

                                          2 Corinthians 1:3
"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort"

Why does God allow children to die, earthquakes to destroy cities, and famine to ravage villages?  A humanists snickered, knowing he could not reconcile these stark realities with a good and all-powerful God.  He reasoned, if there were such a Being, there would be no suffering.  And since there is suffering, there is no such Being.
Before dismissing such logic, we as Christians need to ask ourselves how well we understand what God is doing in this sin-cursed world.  One difficulty we have in reconciling suffering and God's existence is our finiteness.  We cannot think the thoughts of an infinite God.  And we must not be so presumptuous as to say that a loving God could never allow the forces of nature to cause suffering.
We can find peace in our dilemma by opening our hearts to the comfort God gives when we suffer.  If we trust Him, He will make real to us His presence and power.  And this will assure us not only that He exists but that He is with us in our suffering.

GOD'S LOVE DOES NOT EXEMPT US
                              FROM TRIALS BUT SEES US
                                      THROUGH THEM

                                     May God Bless You
                                      And Your Families
