Devotional

                                                                    Psalm 51: 2
"Wash, me thoroughly from mine iniquity"
"and cleanse me from my sin"

David was convinced of his sin and poured out his soul to God in prayer.  We must first notice that David; ask for Mercy and Grace "before" Forgiveness.  How many times have we been convicted of a sin big or small and have ask God for Grace and Mercy "before" Forgiveness.  I believe it would be safe to say; not very many times. If we Go to God for forgiveness because of guilt or we feel sorry for it:; well we are just wasting  God's time.  We must first own that sin or sin's before God, then not be ashamed to own our repentance.
Believers long to have their whole debt of sin's blotted out. and every stain cleansed; however we all and I mean we all; will have some secret reserve and have some favorite lust that we kept to our self, therefore keeping it from being washed away with the rest of our sin's.  If we can own our sins, we should not be ashamed to own our repentance.
