Isaiah 6:8
"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying,
Whom shall I send, and who will go for
us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."
During the life of Isaiah the people no longer knew the Lord in a meaningful way or worshiped him. Their sacrifices and assemblies had become a sham, masking the injustices they had come to tolerate. Thus, burdened by the sin of his community, Isaiah had a life-changing vision of God’s glory in the place of worship. Overcome by awareness of his own sin and that of his people, Isaiah received forgiveness from the Lord’s minister.
When something needs to change, either in ourselves or in the culture
in which we live, God’s judgment comes to the forefront of worship. The
presence of God among his people can comfort the afflicted, but it can
also afflict the comfortable. As we grow more sensitive to the majesty
of God and to the power of his Word, he begins to move us beyond our
comfort zone and to bring our life and conduct increasingly into
conformity with his purposes. Then we, as Isaiah can go forth as God's spokesman to a sinful and indifferent world. My Friends; it is time to move forward with The Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Amen!!
