Why A Child Of God Should Study The Word Of God [PT-2]

Matthew 4:4 

"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live

by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth

out of the mouth of God."

    The second reason is, because of the often repeated command to read it. "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success," (Josh. 1:8). What should be pondered on is the last verse of our main Scripture,"but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." (Matt. 4:4).

    The third reason is, because the Bible is God's chosen way to accomplish "His Divine Will". Sinners are saved through the message of the Bible. How can anyone call on Him in whom they have not believed? How can someone believe in Him if they have not heard? And how will they hear God's word without a preacher? "And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God," (Romans 10:15-17).

    My Friends, Saints are sanctified through the message of the Bible. "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth," (John 17:17).  "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:" (1 Peter 2:2). "Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar," (Prov. 30:5-6). "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you," (John 15:7).  "And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified," (Acts 20:32).
