Take All That God Offers

                                             Ezekiel 2:8
"But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto
thee; Be not thou rebellious like that
                             rebellious: open thy mouth and
                                       eat that I give thee"

Ezekiel was directed by God to perform many unusual acts in connection with the message that he had received from God.  In this vision he ate a scroll, presumably because it had on it the words he was to utter(Ezek. 3:1-4), and another time Ezekiel acted out an escape through the city wall by some of his fellow countrymen in Jerusalem (Ezek. 12:3-7).  He used a type of shadowboxing to depict the Babylonian slaughter that was coming (Ezek. 21:14-17).  At times during his preaching he would clap his hands, stamp his feet and cry, "Alas" (Ezek. 6:11), or as he cried and wailed he would slap his thighs (Ezek. 21:12).  As a sign to the people, he used a brick to represent Jerusalem and built a model depicting it's siege (Ezek. 4:1-3).
Ezekiel was told by God to go into a rebellious nation and deliver a message from Him.  Now Ezekiel was told to stand and God would speak to him, and when he stood up "The Spirit of God" enter into him.  Do you think that Ezekiel wanted to go?  He was chose by God; not commanded, but chose.  You and I are the same as Ezekiel, when the Holy Spirit enter us and tells us to listen God has something to say to you or something for you to do it would be wise to listen.  It may not be an audible voice; but you will know.  All these signs and gestures that Ezekiel was told to make is no different from what God tells us today.  God's purpose for Ezekiel was to show them what was coming and how, He would deliver it, and to let them know The Lord God had spoken these things
and that there had been a prophet among them.
Jesus Christ preached the same message many years ago and God knew the only way to defeat sin was through the Death and Resurrection of His Son Jesus.  My friends if we are called to do something for God, no matter how small or large or how God directs us, then that's the way we must respond.  Never fight against what God wants you to do.  What God wants from you may seem huge and impossible; But to Him it is being obedient to His Word!
    Amen!!
