Colossians 3:5
"Mortify therefore your members
Which are upon the earth"
Sometimes it takes radical action to keep our lives above reproach or to break the stranglehold of sinful habits. Paul expressed the believer's responsibility this way: "put to death; fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry."
This means that we must take specific action. We may have to become accountable to a mature christian or join a support group to break a specific sin. It may mean struggling with the tough questions, "What do I love most?" Food, alcohol, pornography, illicit sex, money; or Jesus? Who or what is going to die in me?
Sin requires radical action. It took Jesus' death to free us from sin's condemnation and power. If we are saved, we died and rose again with Christ, and our life is now hidden with him. But victory over specific sins requires a decisive act of dying on our part. You must master the sin in your life or it will master you!!
May God Bless You
And Your Families
