Why Then, Does The Gospel Fail?

                                        2 Corinthians 4:3
"But if our gospel be hid, it is
hid to them that are lost."

As servant's of Christ we must never forget that we once needed and obtained mercy.  This will sustain us in many an hour when heart and flesh fail.  For our weapon is the truth, and our appeal is to conscience.  Others may strive for victory in brilliant imagination, strong enthusiasm, and intellectual force, but we have no rival, nor equal supremacy in the realm of conscience.  We have the supreme power and authority of God.
Why, then, does the gospel fail?  Not through any defect in itself, nor because of some arbitrary decree on the part of God, but because the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the eyes of the heart by the glamor of worldly prosperity and success, or perhaps by the covering film or scale of evil habit's, so that the light of the dawn, stealing over the world, is unable to penetrate the darkened life.

       Amen!!

From God; There Is No Hidden Place!

                                           Jonah 2:1
"Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord
his God out of the fish's belly"

God and his servant Jonah had parted in anger, and the quarrel began on Jonah's side; he fled from his country that he might outrun his work; but we hope to see them both together again, and the reconciliation begins on God's side.  Observe when Jonah prayed,  it was when he was in trouble, under the tokens of God's displeasure against him for sin. When we are in affliction we must pray.  Being kept alive by miracle, he prayed.  A sense of God's good-will to us, not withstanding our offenses, opens the lips in prayer, which were closed with the dread of wrath.
Men may shut us from communion with one another, but not from communion with God.  He   prayed to; the Lord his God.  Jonah reflects on the earnestness of his prayer, and God's readiness to hear and answer.  When we receive good out of our troubles, we must notice the hand of God in them.  Jonah had wickedly fled from the presence of the Lord, who might justly take his Holy Spirit from him, never to visit him more.  But know this! "miserable will be those, whom God will no longer own and favor.  But though he was perplexed, yet not in despair.  Jonah reflects on the favor of God to him, when he sought to God, and trusted in him in his distress.  He warns others, and tells them to keep close to God.
Those who forsake their own duty, forsake their own mercy; those who run away from the work of their place and day, run away from the comfort of it.  Believer's that copies those who observe lying vanities, he forsakes his own mercy, and lives below his privileges.  I pray that Jonah's experience of running from God, and God's faithfulness encourages others, in all ages, to trust in God, as the God of salvation.
        Amen!!

The Heart Has No Pride, Unless You Put It There!

                                          Obadiah 1:3
"The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee,"

All the enemies of God's church shall be disappointed in the things they satisfy themselves on. God can easily lay those low who magnify and exalt themselves; and will do it.  Carnal security ripens men for ruin, and makes the ruin worse when it comes.  Treasures on earth cannot be so safely laid up, that thieves cannot break through and steal it.  Therefore; it is our wisdom to lay up for ourselves, treasures in heaven.  Those that make flesh their trust, will eventually use it against themselves.  The God of our covenant will never deceive us:  but trust of men may well prove to be a wound and dishonor to ourselves.  All violence, all unrighteousness, is sin; but it makes the violence far worse, if it be done against any of God's people.
In reflecting on ourselves, it is good to consider what we should have done; to compare our practice with the Scripture rule.  "Sin, thus looked upon in the glass of the commandment, will appear exceedingly sinful."  Those have a great deal to answer for, who are idle spectators, when troubles befall their neighbors, and don't offer a helping hand.  In the time of calamity the thief will make himself poor, by trying to make himself rich by ruin of the people of God.  Though judgment begins at the house of God, it shall not end there. Let sorrowful believers and insolent oppressors know, that the troubles of the righteous will soon end, but those of the wicked will be eternal.  "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the forward mouth, do I hate" (Proverbs 8:13)

Better To Be Shaken, Than Tossed Out!

                                           Amos 9:9
"For lo, I will command, and I will sift
The house of Israel among all nations
like as the corn is sifted in a sieve,"

The prophet, seen a vision with the Lord standing upon the idolatrous altar at Bethel. Wherever sinners flee from God's justice, it will overtake them.  Those whom God takes to Heaven by His grace, shall never be cast down.  But those who seek to climb by by vain confidence in themselves, will be cast down and filled with shame.  Some people are so proud, or just so dumb to say; they enjoy the darkness of sin.  However; they need to realize that God will ultimately judge their life of sin.
Picture if you will a sift in the hands of God, and your life has come up before Him.  He is shifting every evil thing that had been committed, and not one deed would pass through His Judgement.  "What Then?"  In this World today; many claim to speak for God, but few are faithful to His Word!  So what do you say?  Today is a great day to start shifting our lives in order to pass through God's "Sieve."

God's Plumb-Line Of Strict Justice

                                        Amos 7:7
"Thus he showed me: and, behold, the
Lord stood upon a wall made by a
                            plumbline, with a plumbline
                                       in his hand."

We can see what a blessing praying people are to a land.  See how ready, how swift God is to show mercy;  He waits and wants to be gracious, not just to Israel, but to all.  Israel was a wall, a strong wall which God Himself raise up as a defense to Hid Sanctuary.  The Lord stands upon this wall.  He measures it, and the wall appears to be a bowing, bulging wall.  The wall is no longer strong because of Israel's wickedness, and those who have been spared many times before, shall be spared no longer.  That strong wall had become as tin because of their sins and with God's plumbline the wall was no longer in plumb; therefore if a wall is out of plumb it will crumble upon it's self.
God's plumbline is an emblem of "Strict Justice."  I'm sure there are some that say;  "I'm not under law, I'm under grace, saved by "believing in Jesus Christ."  I would say you're right.  But Let me say this.  "God's eyes are still upon us all, and now Christ is a symbol of wall made by a plumbline. When we stand in front of God, we must measure up, for Jesus Christ will be  "Holding The Plumbline."  Jesus will say,  "This is a good and faithful servant," or "Father I know not this person!"  My friends evaluate your life today.  Would your life be in "Plumb with the Plumbline of Jesus Christ?

God Warns, God Saves, God Delivers

                                          Joel 2:12
"Therefore also now, saith the Lord, Turn
ye even to me with all your heart, and
                         with fasting, and with weeping,
                                   and with mourning."

I remember when I was growing up, and my Mother making sure I was in Church with her.  Wow that sounds like I didn't like church?  No what I'm saying is I remember the things the Pastor would say about the plagues, that God sent down on the people He loved.  Later I realized, that's the reason He sent the plagues, "Because He Loved Them."
Here we see God's mercy.  The Locust was a warning about "The Day Of The Lord."  Here in verse (12), the Lord is pleading with Israel to repent right then.  Now keep in mind that the swarm of locust could have been averted by swift, genuine and heartfelt repentance as in verse (13).  We Know that God does not go back on His Word; though the ultimate purpose for exiling, regathering, and purging His people will still be carried out.  God is always ready to respond to sincere repentance.
My friends there is a Prophecy that is about to be fulfilled (Joel 2:28-32).  The fulfillment of this prophecy, or the second stage of its fulfillment, will be evident in the second coming of Christ at the end of the Great Tribulation.  The day of darkness and gloom, along with the wonders in the heavens, will follow the opening of the sixth seal (Joel 2:2, 30 ,31 and Rev 6:12).  Our God is this same God that love's His Children so much, that He tells us what is coming and how bad it will be; and yet He Pleads for us to repent, and gives us amble time to make our decision.  I pray that you have made your choice already.  If not I pray that you will consider "Jesus Christ" as your Savior before it is eternally to late.
        Amen!!

The Cords Of a Man

                                           Hosea 11:4
"I draw them with cords of a man,
                                      with bonds of love:"

When Israel was weak and helpless as children, and foolish as children are, God stepped in because He loved them.  God cared for them as a nurse does a new born child.  He nourished them, took pains with them, as a father, a mother and teacher while they were in the wilderness.
All who are grown up ought to reflect upon the goodness of God to them in their childhood.  God was with us in ways we will never know.  As we grew older our parents and church taught us God's commandments.  Once you have heard "The Gospel Of Jesus Christ," "The Holy Spirit will draw your soul to Jesus Christ.  God's love is through His son "Jesus Christ," for God gave His son for our sin's; "Christ paid our sin debt on "The Cross."
God has done many wonderful things for His Children.  He does this because He loves us so much.  Israel would turn away from God when things didn't go their way, and my friends it is no different with Christians today.  Yes Christians fail God every day because of weakness; "You as a Believer, Myself as a Minister as well as others through out God's Church.  We may stumble because we are not perfect, but let us not fall away from our loving God.
The human affections in which all man share,  is the feelings which even the poorest, meanest, and even the ignorant partake in, the pity, tenderness, and the love that can only be called forth by love.  These are the cords by which our God draws Us.  "The Cords Of A Man."

God Is The Authority Of All

                                           Hosea 10:3
"For now they say, We have no king,
because we feared not the Lord;"

Israel had become an empty vine, they brought forth fruit unto themselves, and their heart became divided.  Israel rejected all authority, and refused to trust anyone outside of themselves.  Since they did not respect God's leading, why would they accept the authority of a king.  They became a self-centered people and had no fear of God.  As a result their oath and covenants were worthless, but they kept them as long as it was to their advantage.
Does this not sound familiar?  Each day we see this rejection of authority all around us.  Our Lord is still dealing with the same rejection of His authority.  I'm not speaking of just Israel!  It is in every corner of the world.  The way I see things is this!  Almost in every place that God has been raised up and praised in public,  "It has been banned and we may as well say made illegal to Worship, Pray, or even try to share the Gospel Of Jesus Christ.  And what burns me is, they always say it has been voted to keep prayer out of almost everything involving the government.  But (Is. 9:6) tells us, that the government will be on His shoulders."   Now there is places in the United States where you can not expose (have in sight) The Holy Bible.
My friends, God's Authority will not be ignored or just plain out rejected.  No one can escape from the authority and power of God.  We know Satan has his boundaries, "only" by God's authority and soon he will be destroyed forever.  What ever happens around us comes from what we the people choose; whither it is good or bad.  Let us remember this:  Within our conscience is God's voice to the heart, of man's knowledge of the law of God, and His mercy of it.  It's man's voice to his heart reminding himself of God's grace and mercy.  " Let us not forget our God, Our Creator, and Our Savior."

Be Sincere To The Knowledge Of God

                                       Hosea 6:6
                    "For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice;
                            and the knowledge of God
                             more than burnt offerings

God valued a relationship with His people, more than their offerings.  It is not that God would not make Himself available to them, rather it was because they rejected him.  God was aware that they could not fulfill their responsibility to love Him, without diligent instruction.  What God was saying here in Chapter 6 of the Book of Hosea; summarizes Israel's problem throughout the Old Testament.  The Lack of knowledge of God!
The union of right knowledge and wrong practice is just wrong in itself; and it is especially offensive to Almighty God.  Now don't get me wrong here!  I'm not criticizing the people of Israel now or then, because we the gentiles are no different.  All that know and serve God should know who they offend and how they offend him!  However; with our Knowledge of God's Grace, and the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ;  We still choose to do that which displeases Him.
So then, we go through our life day after day enjoying, "what we ourselves are doing by our actions and our deeds.  The question being; are they wrong in the eyes of God?  If they are; our knowledge becomes darkened (Romans 1:21).
Our most important responsibility no matter what outward or physical accomplishments are achieved, God is concerned with the attitude of the heart.  God desires that an individuals total being be involved in the pursuit of the "Knowledge Of God" Jesus explains this in (Matthew 12:1-8).  Let us retain this in our heart and mind:  "Everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God (1John 4:7).  For God Is Love!

One Life! How Will You Live It?

                                          Psalm 71:17
"O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and
hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works."

We all have heard or have been told, "to live for yourself."  If others lived that way, what would that do to their relationship with you?  Of course some people just say "I'm true to myself." OK! That's fine, but what if self is a mess?  The Question to ask; is there something larger than oneself; something better, or someone worth really living living for?
Many of us live for our dreams.  But dreams fail, so were do we turn then?  If that don't work for us, others say, "follow your heart."  Well the problem with that is; how can you follow a heart that is shattered?  You will find that your feelings have become confused.  Can we look beyond ourselves to something more dependable than being only human?  Life spills away like water, so what's the purpose to feed a body that just dies too soon?  Is there more to reality than this surface view of life?
We are brought up to follow a religion in which our families follow.  Therefore; for many people, their choices were made for them.  We are born into beliefs where we live and learn, and most of the time we haven't actually reached our own conclusions.  In a world like this, how can we respect others beliefs.  Who's beliefs are true or Good?  Is there a better way to live your live?
Yes!  There is a Book that God inspired man to write, called The Holy Bible.  In the Bible you will find, "The Greatest Story Ever Told; The Gospel Of Jesus Christ."   Christ did not live for Himself, but for His Father "GOD."  All life comes from God, therefore all life should be lived for God.  No matter what your religion is or what you were taught,  I'm here to tell you, there is only one God. The God that came down from heaven and live as a man, called Jesus without sin, and then gave His live to pay our sin debt so that we could have eternal life with Him.
        Amen!!

A Virtuous Women, Your Wife!

                                           Proverbs 31:10
"Who can find a virtuous women?
for her price is far above rubies."

A wife, she is the stay and confidence of her husband.  Not only when she comes as a young bride into his home, in the glory and beauty of her youth, nor only when her womanly beauty holds his admiration, but long after and to the end of life she does him good.  She is always busy. She is thrifty in administering his earnings.  If he brings the money to her, she expends it economically for their daily living.
It is in the home-place that the man’s strength is gathered for public life. The woman in the home communicates the inspiration and strength which make him "known in the gates."  Her secret, unobtrusive loyalty, counsel, and thrift inspire a growing depth of appreciation; so that the man who chose her in her young life will say to her when they both grow old, "Other women may be good and true, but thou excel-lest them all."  Husband's open your eye's to your  "Virtuous Women, Your Wife."

An Invitation To The Kingdom Of God

                                           1Corinthians1:2
"To them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called
to be saints, with all that in every place call
upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord"

A personal invitation makes a person feel wanted and welcome.  We are "called by God to be his holy people."  God personally invites us to be citizens of his eternal Kingdom.  Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is the only one who can bring us into this glorious Kingdom because he is the only one who removes our sins.  "To be made holy" (or sanctified) means that we are chosen or set apart by Christ for his service.  We accept God’s invitation by accepting his Son, Jesus Christ, and by trusting in the work he did on the cross to forgive our sins.
Grace is God’s free gift of salvation given to us in Christ.  Receiving it brings us peace.  In a world of noise, confusion, and relentless pressures, people long for peace.  Many give up the search, thinking it impossible to find, but true peace of heart and mind is available to us through faith in Jesus Christ.

God's Word Is Our Commission

                                         Joshua 1:9
"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong
and of a good courage; be not afraid,
neither be thou dismayed: for the
Lord thy God is with thee
                             whithersoever thou goest"

Joshua was a prince of the tribe of Ephraim, and was born in Egypt.  After the Exodus he became captain of the host, (Exo. 17:9).  With Caleb he brought back a good report of the land of Canaan, (Num. 4:7).  Having been found faithful in the smaller sphere, he was promoted to the wider one.  As we have seen, one of Moses’ closing acts was to give him a charge.  He represents the Lord Jesus, in His risen glory, as the Captain and Leader of the Church.
The land of Canaan was Israel’s by deed of gift; but Israel had to go up to possess it.  Similarly God’s grace is ours, but we must claim it by putting the foot of our faith on God’s promises.  Though our old evil habits-revolt, if we meet them in the power of the Holy Spirit, they must yield.  God is with us is the perquisite of all believers.  But note that the weapon of successful conflict is God’s Word; it is our sword, (Eph. 6:17).  Thy Words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart (Jer. 15:16).

Punishment For Disobedience Unto The Lord

                                         Deuteronomy 28:15
"But it shall come to pass if thou wilt not hearken
unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe
to do all his commandments and his statutes
which I command thee this day; that all
these curses shall come upon thee,
                                          and overtake thee."

If we do not keep God's commandments, we not only come short of the blessing promised, but we lay ourselves under the curse,  Observe the justice of this curse, and the extent and power of this curse.  Wherever the sinner goes, the curse of God follows; wherever he is, it rests upon him.  What ever he has is under a curse.  All his enjoyments are made bitter; he cannot take any true comfort in them, for the wrath of God mixes itself with them. The judgments stated here, which would be the fruits of the curse, and with which God would punish the people of the Jews, for their apostasy and disobedience.  We may observe the fulfilling of these threatening's in their present state.  To complete the misery, it is threatened that by these troubles the sinner should be bereaved of all comfort and hope, and left to utter despair. Those who walk by sight, and not by faith, are in danger of losing reason itself, when every thing about them looks frightful.

                                  Genesis 1:1
                      "In the beginning God created
                        the heaven and the earth."

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” This is the first truth the Bible teaches. The first chapter of Genesis allows us to glimpse the love, imagination, and power of God. Out of nothing, God spoke the universe into being and fashioned it into his creation. His creation continues to reflect his glory and will do so until all things pass away. Let us praise God, the author of life, who created us in his image and for his pleasure.
Our gracious GOD, your work is evident everywhere. Your creation glows of your power and glory. We pray that the testimony around us, from the smallest pebble to the deepest sea, will continue to remind us of your creative purpose in all things. May your name be praised now, and forever.
       Amen!!

Break Up Your Fallow Ground And Seek The Lord

                                            Hosea 10:12
"Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in
mercy; break up your fallow ground: for
it is time to seek the Lord, till he come
                              and rain righteousness upon you."

Israel brought forth fruit, but not such as God could delight in.  It became corrupt and evil. How great a disappointment to the Great Cultivator!  The land was covered with stone monuments and altars, the symbols of idolatry, and the Canaanites themselves could not have been more shameless in sin.  But notice the terrible judgments that must befall.  There would be revolution, for when men say, We fear not the Lord, they will go on to say, We fear not the king, and  the  “house of vanity,”  would replace  the “house of God.”  The golden calves would be carried off by the conqueror.  The king would be defeated, and perish as foam upon the water.  The fortresses of Israel would be carried by assault, with all the accompaniments of savage warfare.  Is it not  “an evil thing and bitter”  to forsake the Lord!
It's time that we should look into our hearts and lives, and break up the fallow ground, now covered with thorns and thistles, and begin to sow in righteousness?  Let us ask God to drive the plowshares of deep soul-searching and conviction across the hard and sterile acres of our hearts, and sow them with His good seed.
        Amen!!

A Prayer For The Promise Of Rebuilding Jerusalem

                                       Daniel 9:10
"To the Lord our God belong mercies
                         and forgiveness, though we have
                                  rebelled against him."

Daniel was a faithful man of prayer, however this prayer was different.  Daniel prayed for the Nation of Israel no matter where they were, near or far away.  Daniel believed in his God and was faithful in his service to Him.  But in prayer Daniel does not leave himself out; for he prays,  "We have sinned, we committed iniquity, we rebelled and neither have we obeyed.  This my friends is a model prayer.  A prayer brought before God for the sins of His people; by one man who Loved His God and all the people of his Nation.   A prayer for the promise of rebuilding Jerusalem.
This prayer was not a selfish prayer.  It was a God fearing, full of confession, backed up by faith, hope and trust in God.  In Daniel's prayer there are two personnel traits that are felt, which all prayers brought before God should encase; "Boldness and Truth."   Like Daniel we can pray for our nation and others, however; let us not forget that we have substantial sin upon our shoulders to confess to God.
        Amen!!

The Hands That Never Let Go

                                            Psalm 139:10
"Even there shall thy hand lead me,
and thy right hand shall hold me."

The believer cannot be removed from the supporting, comforting presence of his Almighty God.  If his life be taken, his soul will ascend  to heaven.  For we know that the grave cannot separate our body from the love of our Savior, who will raise it a glorious heavenly body.
God knows our thoughts and our paths in our life from birth to death, and we rejoice that we have a God that knows us personally, and desires to guide us on the right paths.  Our God is limitless and His knowledge is joined with a compassionate heart.  You don't have to search for God.  He already knows you, and if your not a child of the King; I pray that you and your family will become as all Christians are  "His Children."  While Walking with God, you will be happy in any situation, and with faith, hope, and prayer in your service to Him; your blessing will be many.  So as God holds our hands and leads us now; He will surely hold our hands in Heaven!
        Amen!!

A Man's Heart Will Determine His Works

                                            Ephesians 2:10
"For we are his workmanship, created in
Christ Jesus unto good works, which
                                God hath before ordained that
                                    we should walk in them."

God created us body and soul, in Jesus Christ before the foundations of the world, and created unto good works. So here is were the good works come in.  You see, God did not save us because of the good works we were going to do, like accepting Him as our Savior.  No!  It is because God created us unto good works, which means that God had prepared these works long before we would come into existence.  God prepared the good works so that we would walk in them "automatically" as Christians.
So the question is do we get credit for the good works.  No we don't!  God prepared those good works, we just step in the place and situation that God planned (or made).  The good works were a gift of God's grace.  we did not perform those good works perfectly, and we never will.  They will still be tainted by sin.  But through the Lord Jesus Christ, that sin is taken away so that those works become pleasing to God.  All God's mankind must remember, that God saved us entirely by His grace, and not by any works we have or might do.  Now just a little note from my heart: "It is the action and drive from you heart that will determine if your works please God.
        Amen!!

Never Give Up, Plan With God

                                           2 Corinthians 4:16
"For which cause we faint nor; but though
our outward man perish, yet the inward
man is renewed day by day."

Each day of our life, we start the day with one thought in mind.  That thought is, what "will" or must I do today.  Well, for most people that would be the common thing to do; "if" they start their day without God.  What!!  Why is a day so different with God in it, than when God is not the subject of your day.  Because when we plan our day we plan for our own interest (ourselves), and mostly toward some-kind of gain for ourselves.  Then soon, day after day you begin to lose heart and purpose for your life.  Lam. 3:22-23;  "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassion's fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
We were not put on this earth to do what we please, without answering to our Creator, and to take rule over our own lives.  You see God has a plan for each person, and if we come short of God's plan on a particular day, have no fear for when in union with God you are renewed daily.  So if you have just started you day just stop!  Ask God what His plan is for you today.
        Amen!!

Step Out And Trust God

                                            Ecclesiastes 11:1
"Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou
shalt find it after many days."

If this world in it's present state, even with the wealth and pleasures of this world; it would not be enough to make us happy.  What a man gets from this world will not supply his soul, or completely satisfy his desires.  And what a man gets from this world will not atone for the sins of his soul, or hinder the lose of it.  So, I ask what profit will the wealth of the world be to your soul in death, in judgment, and eternity?
God has given the promise that though it may seem that effort is being wasted in service to Him, there will be rewards in heaven (2 Tim. 4:8).  It may seem that we as believers go through our lives without recognition or glory, but the governing principle of our service should be to please and glorify our Heavenly Father, which is far greater than the satisfaction of the flesh.  Let us continue this year, and until we are called home to be in,  "Glory With Jesus Christ Our Savior" to serve our God faithfully, for through Him we have "Grace"
        Amen!!

Prayer Of Faith Is The Prevailing Prayer

                                             Psalm 31:5
"Into thine hand I commit my spirit thou hast
redeemed me, O Lord God of truth"

Prayer and faith must go together, for the prayer of faith is the prevailing prayer.  David gave up his soul in a special manner to God.  Like most people today, David was in distress and trouble, and had great care for his soul and spirit.  Many people today worry more about their worldly affairs, and their cares just multiply. However that is no excuse to neglect their souls. God looks upon our souls, when we are in trouble, to see whether they are humbled for sin, and made better by the affliction.  Every believer will meet with such dangers and deliverance's, until he is delivered from death, his last enemy.  Our Lord Jesus gave up His last breath on the cross, and His soul became a free-will offering for our sin, by laying down His life as a ransom for us.  I pray that today if you don't know this man call Jesus, that you will seek, find and believe by faith that He and He alone died for your sins and the worlds.
       Amen!!

The Soul And The Spirit

                                          1 Thessalonians 5:23
                     "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly;
and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and
body be preserved blameless unto the coming
                                        of our Lord Jesus Christ"

Many find it hard to believe that a born again believer can have a demonic spirit.  Simply they don't understand the difference between the soul and the spirit of a man.  Most people believe that everything is made new the moment a person accepts Jesus; (which is true for the man's spirit), but they naturally accept the fact that a person can be born again, yet they can still be in bondage to sin (darkness or evil).
The soul and the spirit are not the same.  Even though our Bible uses the words soul and spirit interchangeably, there is a very distinct difference that we cannot ignore. These passages in God's Word that make a very clear distinction between the soul and the spirit: (Hebrews 4:12), "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."  And, (1 Thessalonians 5:23), "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."  Our Scripture for today.
So what is the difference between the soul and the spirit?  We are a spirit being, we live in a body and we possess a soul.  The real person inside of us is our spirit.  Our soul consists of our mind, will and emotions.  Our bodies are obviously what we live in while we are here on earth.  How did demonic spirits possess (control) people in the Bible?  It was through their souls (minds, as in mental illness and insanity), and their bodies (as in the woman who had the spirit of infirmity.
Here is an examples of physical (bodily) demonic affliction:  (Luke 13:11), "And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself."
And here an example of mental (soul) demonic affliction. (Matthew 17:15,18), "Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatic, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water, and Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour."  Our spirits ARE born again!  Our souls ARE Not!
        Amen!

The Lord's Blessings Of Hearing, And Answering Prayer

                                          Daniel 2:19
"Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel
in a night vision. Then Daniel
                               blessed the God of heaven."

Behold!  The prevalence of prayer.  Oh, what would prayer be with out faith in Christ?  When God the Holy Ghost gives a spirit of prayer, and leads the soul in Jesus, so that we wrestle, as Jacob did; and act in faith, as Elijah did; what mercies may not be expected to follow.   As soon as the Lord revealed unto him the secret, he first poured out his whole soul in praise to the great Author of mercy. He did not hasten to the King of Babylon before he had first blessed the King of kings for his grace. There were numberless mercies Daniel found grace to be thankful for; and no doubt under the sense he had of the Lord’s favor, his heart was melted before the Lord.  There are other beautiful instance like this throughout God's Word.  I ask, are there nothing in all these instances, and which we read in the history of God’s people, which is suited to you and to me, as they refer to our state and circumstances? Surely, Daniel’s success in prayer, and the Lord’s blessing in hearing, and answering prayer, will leave us without excuse, if we neglect to visit the throne, upon any and every occasion; especially in the times, we live in today.  Let us thank God for this bright example of Daniel, to stir up thy redeemed to this most blessed and sure rewarding service, that we may bring all our concerns before thee, and by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, and make all our requests known unto you, "Our Almighty God"
        Amen!!

Fruits Of The Light

                                         Ephesians 5:13
"But all things that are reproved are made
manifest by the light: for whatsoever
                                doth make manifest is light"

The fruit of the Spirit taken by transcribers from (Ga 5:22), is the true reading of the oldest manuscripts, "The fruit of THE LIGHT."  Now in contrast with  "the unfruitful works of darkness" (Eph 5:11).  The proof of difference is this:  Walk as children of light, that is, in all good works and words, "for the fruit of the light is borne, and consists in all goodness, opposed to malice, (Eph 4:31), righteousness, opposed to covetousness, (Eph 5:3), and truth, opposed to lying, (Eph 4:25)."
Proving, construed with "walk" (Eph 5:8; Ro 12:1, 2).   As we prove a coin by the eye and the ear, and by using it, so by accurate and continued study, and above all; by a life of faithfulness, we may prove ourselves and others to be;  "What is acceptable unto the Lord."  Therefore my friends awake and walk in Holiness, and Christ will give thee light.
        Amen!!
